So much has been going on this semester . . . but it's thoroughly un-bloggable. So, what to do? Wait until writing publicly about my life becomes possible without anonymity? Set my blog to "private?" Start another blog, one with tighter privacy controls? I'm honestly unsure. (That should probably go without saying. If I was sure, I would have just opted definitively for one of the above already.)
Suffice to say, my personal journal has been pretty damned full lately.

Create another blog with tighter privacy controls. That's better than making this blog's privacy controls tighter, because that would cause you to lose all your casual readers. Not blogging at all is a bad idea because we want to hear all the salacious "un-bloggable" stuff. Plus, if you don't include it somehow, there will be a major narrative thread missing from your (public) writing about your life.
I agree with starting a fresh blog. Just make sure to invite me, pretty please! I have noticed it's been quiet around here and wondered how you were doing. I hope that all is well for you, take care and treat yourself kindly.
I vote for just changing it to "private." Anyone that wants to read can just email you to ask for an invite.
I wouldn't want you to start all over again and not have all that history there. It's nice to have the whole continuous journey right there in one blog.
I change my vote. Go with bananas' suggestion. And get off your knees and get to it! ;)
Thanks for the encouragement and/or ass-kicking.
Here's my hesitation with switching this blog's to invite-only readership, though: Many, if not most, of my regular readers are ones who somehow happen upon the blog. If I switch it to private, then I've sort of frozen my readership. It's certainly not that I am actively seeking new readers, but I like that people who don't know me can stumble upon my writing and get something positive from it. If I close off that possibility, I close off one of the things I like about blogging . . . even if it's not the only or even primary thing I like.
Still thinking . . . .
Needless to say, I can totally relate to what you are describing - the silence on my own blog probably speaks for itself. But please do not go private. Please! If you feel like you need to write about certain things "privately", perhaps a new private blog would be more appropriate. But please don't make Digest private - it's so good that almost everyone should read it.
Just my personal opinion being in the legal field, I love that my blog is private. I know who can read and that is very important. Just something to keep in mind :) I want to hear how the semester is going though - I can give advice if needed :) Hang in there, it will be worth it in the end. xoxo
